General Forum Rules1. Be respectful toward the religious/spiritual/philosophical beliefs of others; if said beliefs pose a disruption, please address the subject respectfully.
2. Be respectful toward the physical appearance (ie race/color/ethnicity/nationality/cultural background, weight, etc) of others.
3. Be respectful of the gender/sex/orientation of others.
4. Be respectful of the disabilities/special needs of others, be they mental or physical.
5. Be respectful of differing opinions. If you disagree with someone, be willing to accept reasonable, respectful criticism/disagreement/debate. And if you agree with someone, please avoid multiple people ganging up on a single person.
6. Evidence matters. Facts matter. If you debate, refrain from name-calling & other attacks. Opinions are allowed, but articles and quotes from reliable sources are appreciated. If a source is disputed, dispute respectfully. Mistaken information can be forgiven, but purposeful, blatant use of lies/deception will be dealt with swiftly and sternly.
7. No repeats! If the Forum lags, copies of a post may appear. Delete redundant posts. Likewise, if you want to create a new thread, please make sure that another thread of similar/same topic does not already exist. While not always the case, there are times when similar/related ideas may be integrated into the existing thread.
8. Save convo space! When replying to several people, it would be appreciated if you @ several people at once (within reason), rather than giving each response its own separate reply.
9. Reality comes first. This Forum deals w/ fictional characters & concepts. Show respect/empathy for people's real personal, family & work lives outside of the internet, and do not allow your passion for a topic on here lead you to disrespect this or any of the above rules.
10. These are merely a set of guidelines. Administrators are entitled to show discretion as to how these and other potential rules are carried out, to make the Forum run as smoothly as possible. We want to foster an environment that is supportive, respectful, helpful, useful, positive, creative, engaging and, above all--FUN!
